Fire Arrests

During this extended heatwave, CalFire wants to remind residents to be extra careful when using equipment to cut dry grasses, and using the wrong equipment at the wrong time could lead to your arrest. A man in Cloverdale was using a riding mover Saturday to try and cut four foot high dry grass when it sparked the Pocket Fire, which burned 11-acres and forced evacuations. He was arrested on Sunday. While it was an accident, it could lead to felony charges for unlawfully causing a fire, which could leat to a 3-year prison sentence.
